It is to be held at the Apollo Hotel in Birmingham — situated on Hagley Road, a couple of miles from a motorway Junction and about 10 mins by taxi from New Street Station.

They have agreed to hold 50 rooms for our exclusive use — so book early! There are also many other hotels/guest houses all along Hagley Road, to suit late bookers or budget stayers. At the Apollo, the rooms cost £95 double/twin or £75 single, although you may get a better rate than this, if you book online and quickly. The Dinner itself is £25 per head.

There is a Real Ale pub a few hundred yards away, with at least five guest beers on display.

Finally, to liven up the evening (and the décor) we are having a “black and white” theme. Interpret that any way you like — but there will be a prize for the best version — and the judges’ decision will be final!
